The mission
FELIX Kitchen&Bar is more than just a restaurant: it is a full-fledged contemporary art space. It is traditional, yet modern, passionate about premium gastronomy, bar culture, quality ingredients and art.
Fortune, harmony, liberty are all part of the name, and Felix is with us more than ever.
AQVA ART COLLECTION
FELIX Kitchen&Bar named after Miklós Ybl’s only son, Felix, evokes the legendary past in our contemporary times.
The heart of the pumping station was the boiler room, formerly the exhibition space of the Ybl Buda Creative House. Today it bears the name AQVA and has evolved into a community scene that embraces both gastronomy and contemporary art.
The aim of our periodically renewed art exhibition is to reach and address a wider audience - not only experts and amateurs of art - through collaborations with various artists, gallerists and art collectors.
The AQVA Art Collection’s ninth exhibition, Fragments of Man: Strength & Shadow, invites viewers to reflect on the diverse and often contradictory aspects of masculinity.
This exhibition offers a journey through male identity, encouraging a reexamination of its societal, historical, and personal dimensions.
The exhibition is organized into five thematic sections. The first, Mythology and Historical Archetypes, highlights figures who embody ideals of endurance and sacrifice, shaping cultural conceptions of masculinity. The Symbols of Power section presents works that explore societal expectations of masculinity and the inner conflicts they create. Crisis and Vulnerability offers an introspective look at midlife challenges and the emotional struggles of the modern man. The Fluid Masculinity section challenges traditional stereotypes, emphasizing the fluid and multifaceted nature of male identity. Finally, Fatherhood and Legacy examines the impact men leave through familial connections.
Featuring a diverse range of artworks – from paintings and sculptures to photography and installations – this exhibition encourages visitors to reconsider stereotypes associated with male roles and explore new perspectives on masculinity.
Our motto: The Art of Sharing. We believe that art, like our food and our lives, achieves its fullest value when experienced together.
Artistic Coordination: Dóra Molnár, the curator of FELIX AQVA, György Pálfi art collector and Zsolt Petrányi art historian
Gastronomy
All the classic favorites and exotic ingredients found on the FELIX Kitchen&Bar menu - but one thing is common: we don’t compromise in our quality.
Dishes are rooted in Hungarian tradition and follow international trends - in every meal of the day.
The exclusive ingredients are provided by vendors representing the highest quality standards, shipping their products from local farms but also from Parisian, Japanese and Australian producers. Our exceptional food selection is complemented by an outstanding bar offering more than 200 different liquors and almost 450 types of wine.
The team
Teamwork plays the main role in FELIX's gastronomic mission - all the teams from Guest relations and reservations, Events, Bar and Wine, Restaurant service work seamlessly in order to create that perfect guest journey.
Our executive chef is Dániel Katona. He studied in France and worked in Spain for 6 years, three of which was next to Jordi Cruz, 6 Michelin stars spanish superstar chef. In addition to the Hungarian and French basics, Dániel's cuisine was greatly influenced by the Mediterranean flavor, which can be felt on our constantly renewed menus.
FELIX’s wine director is Tamás Czinki, the first Hungarian Master Sommelier who made history. Our wine, sparkling wine and champagne selection fell into the best hands, and our wine list was even awarded two glasses by the American WINE Spectator.
Attention to detail and focus to innovation and guest journey is in Felix DNA and every day we are finding new ways to impress and entertain our valued guests.
